Gloam is sold by JTR Labs LLC. It is a download for Mac and Windows, not a Mac App Store purchase, and there is no Apple ID purchase to restore.
Install the download
- Mac: open the disk image and drag Gloam to Applications. The current build is Developer ID signed in the name Jarod Rivera and is not notarized. The seller is JTR Labs LLC. If macOS says it cannot check the app for malicious software, Control-click Gloam in Applications and choose Open the first time. Gloam needs macOS 13 or later.
- Windows: unzip the download and run
Gloam.exe. Use the 64-bit zip on a typical PC and the ARM64 zip on a Windows ARM PC. The app is not code-signed, so SmartScreen may warn you. The intended system is Windows 11, version 24H2 or later.
- Download only from the buttons on the Gloam page. The install guide has the longer version.
Turn on Pro
- Free and Pro use the same installer. Pro stays off until you enter the license key.
- After you pay, the thank-you page shows the key. In Gloam, open the menu and choose Enter license key….
- If you closed that page before the key appeared, email [email protected] with your Stripe receipt and we will send the key. The receipt by itself does not unlock the app.
- Use the key on computers you own or control. Do not post it publicly or sell it.
Refunds
JTR Labs LLC is the seller. Pro purchases are final, except where the law requires a refund. Email [email protected] if you have a question about a charge.
There is no subscription to cancel. Deleting Gloam is enough to stop using it. Apple's refund page does not apply to this purchase, because Apple did not charge you.
What the purchase includes
- One payment. Pro is not an auto-renewing subscription.
- Lifetime means the license does not expire and includes all future updates of Gloam. You are not charged again for those updates.
- Gloam changes screen color. It does not diagnose, treat, or prevent eye strain or sleep problems.
Delete local data
Gloam keeps its settings on the computer. On a Mac, deleting the app does not always delete ~/Library/Preferences/app.gloam.bluelight.plist. On Windows, delete %APPDATA%\Gloam if you also want the settings gone. Details are in the privacy policy.
