Privacy Policy

1. Scope and operator

BillGarden (the “App”) is published by JTR Labs LLC (“JTR Labs,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), an independent software studio in the United States. This Privacy Policy applies to the BillGarden iOS and iPadOS applications, BillGarden widgets and App Intents, and the BillGarden pages on jtrlabs.com (together, the “Services”).

This policy describes JTR Labs’ practices. Apple separately processes information when it provides iCloud, CloudKit, StoreKit, the App Store, notifications, Siri, Shortcuts, and other operating-system services. Apple’s processing is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.

2. Our privacy commitments

• No BillGarden account or developer-operated user database.
• No advertising, advertising identifier, cross-app tracking, data broker, or sale of personal information.
• No third-party analytics, marketing, crash-reporting, or tracking SDK.
• No bank connection and no access to your financial institution credentials.
• No developer server that receives your bill names, providers, notes, account nicknames, amounts, or payment history.
• Clear in-app controls to export records and delete BillGarden data.

3. Information the App handles

BillGarden needs to handle information you choose to enter so it can organize bills and reminders. Depending on how you use the App, this may include:

• Bill names, categories, tags, provider names, account nicknames, notes, payment links, and autopay or scheduled-payment status;
• Fixed amounts, variable estimates, currency codes, due dates, recurrence rules, reminder schedules, and weekend adjustments;
• Payment amounts and dates, confirmation numbers, and bill occurrence and payment history;
• Your selected mascot, mascot name and personality, rewards, achievements, quests, streaks, inventory, and cosmetic choices;
• App preferences such as reminder privacy, sounds, haptics, animation, appearance, currency, and first day of week;
• Export files that you intentionally create and share;
• Subscription entitlement status returned by Apple, such as whether BillGarden+ is active.

This information is used to provide the features you request. It is not transmitted to JTR Labs.

Do not enter information you do not want stored on your device or in your private iCloud account. BillGarden does not require full account numbers, payment-card numbers, bank credentials, Social Security numbers, or other highly sensitive identifiers, and you should not place them in bill notes or other text fields.

4. What JTR Labs collects

JTR Labs does not collect data from the BillGarden App. In Apple’s App Privacy terminology, information processed only on your device is not “collected.” BillGarden’s App Store privacy disclosure is therefore intended to state “Data Not Collected.”

No analytics or tracking

The production App uses a no-operation analytics destination: event definitions exist to keep any future analytics implementation privacy-safe, but no production analytics destination receives them. BillGarden does not use IDFA, track you across apps or websites, or use third-party analytics or advertising libraries.

Information you send to us

If you voluntarily email support, we receive the information you include, such as your email address, message, and any attachments. We use it only to respond, diagnose the issue, protect the Services, or meet legal obligations. Please do not send bill details, financial credentials, or sensitive account information. Support correspondence is not data collected automatically from the App.

5. Local storage and private iCloud sync

On-device storage

BillGarden stores your records locally using Apple frameworks. Widgets read a compact snapshot in an Apple App Group shared only between BillGarden and its widget extension. Snapshot content follows your selected privacy mode.

Private CloudKit database

When you are signed into iCloud and CloudKit is available, BillGarden uses Apple’s CloudKit service to synchronize eligible records between your devices. Records are stored in the private database associated with your Apple Account. JTR Labs does not operate a dashboard or server that reads your private bill records.

CloudKit availability, storage, security, account recovery, and Apple’s processing are controlled by Apple and your Apple Account settings. Turning off iCloud or signing out may stop synchronization but does not necessarily remove data already stored on a device or in iCloud.

6. Apple and device features

BillGarden uses native system capabilities to provide requested features:

• Notifications: Reminders are scheduled locally. Lock-screen text is generic by default; you can choose whether provider or amount details appear.
• Widgets and App Intents: Privacy-redacted snapshots support widgets, Siri, Shortcuts, Spotlight, and deep links. Information made available to these features is handled by your device and Apple’s system services.
• StoreKit: Apple provides product information and verified entitlement status. JTR Labs does not receive your payment-card number.
• Haptics and sounds: Generated on your device according to your settings.
• Exports and sharing: When you create a CSV, PDF, or recap and invoke the system share sheet, you choose the destination. Copies sent to Files, Mail, Messages, AirDrop, or another app are then controlled by you and that destination.
• Payment URLs: If you open a provider link, you leave BillGarden. The website or app you open has its own privacy practices. BillGarden does not fill credentials or submit a payment.

7. Information handled by this website

The BillGarden website does not use an account system, advertising pixels, behavioral analytics, or nonessential cookies. Like most websites, the hosting, content-delivery, and security providers used for jtrlabs.com may automatically process standard technical request information—such as IP address, date and time, requested page, browser or device type, and security signals—to deliver the page, maintain reliability, prevent abuse, and produce short-lived server logs.

JTR Labs does not use this technical information to build advertising profiles, connect it to your BillGarden records, or sell it. If website practices materially change—for example, if optional analytics or a contact form is introduced—this policy will be updated before or when that change is deployed.

8. Purchases and subscriptions

BillGarden+ is offered through Apple’s App Store as auto-renewable monthly and annual subscriptions. Apple processes purchase authorization, billing, tax, trial eligibility, renewal, cancellation, refunds, and payment credentials. JTR Labs receives entitlement information needed to unlock features and may receive aggregated App Store financial and sales reports from Apple.

We do not receive your complete payment-card information. Apple’s App Store and privacy terms govern Apple’s handling of purchase information. You can manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple Account subscription settings.

9. Disclosure, sharing, and sale

We do not sell, rent, or share App data for advertising, and we do not disclose bill records because we do not receive them. We may disclose information you intentionally provide to support only when reasonably necessary:

• To service providers acting for us, such as email or website hosting providers;
• To comply with applicable law, legal process, or a valid governmental request;
• To protect the rights, safety, and security of users, JTR Labs, or others;
• In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to this policy and applicable law.

We do not “sell” or “share” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are used in U.S. state privacy laws.

10. Retention, export, and deletion

App data

Your BillGarden records remain on your device and, if synced, in iCloud until you delete them, delete all BillGarden data, remove relevant iCloud data, or Apple removes them under its policies. You can delete individual bills and payment records within the App. Settings includes a Delete All Data action intended to remove BillGarden records and clear related notifications and widget snapshots.

Deleting the App normally removes its local container from that device, but may not remove synchronized records from iCloud or copies on other devices. You can manage app data through your Apple Account and iCloud settings. Exported CSV or PDF files and copies shared to other destinations are outside BillGarden’s control and must be deleted from those locations separately.

Support messages

We retain voluntary support correspondence only as long as reasonably necessary to respond, maintain support history, prevent abuse, resolve disputes, or comply with legal obligations. You may ask us to delete a support message, subject to records we must retain by law.

11. Security

BillGarden minimizes risk by avoiding a developer backend for bill records and using Apple’s platform security, sandboxing, Keychain and account protections where applicable, and encrypted network transport provided by Apple services. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. You are responsible for securing your device, Apple Account, passcode, backups, exported files, and any information displayed in notifications or widgets.

If you believe you have found a security issue, contact us without including real financial data. We will review good-faith reports.

12. Children’s privacy

BillGarden is a general-audience organizational tool rated 4+; it is not directed specifically to children. JTR Labs does not knowingly collect personal information from children through the App because the App does not collect user data. If a child contacts support, a parent or guardian may request deletion of that correspondence.

13. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, privacy laws may provide rights to know, access, correct, delete, or obtain a portable copy of personal data, and to opt out of sale, targeted advertising, certain profiling, or sharing. You may also have the right to appeal a denied request and not be discriminated against for exercising a right.

Because JTR Labs does not receive BillGarden records, we generally cannot access, correct, export, or delete them for you. Those controls exist on your device and in your Apple/iCloud settings. For information you voluntarily sent to support, submit a request using the address below. We may need to verify that you control the email address involved. Authorized agents may submit requests where permitted by law.

BillGarden does not sell personal data, use it for targeted advertising, or conduct profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects, so no opt-out is necessary for those practices.

14. International use

JTR Labs is based in the United States. If you contact us or use this website from another country, information you voluntarily provide may be processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your location. Apple independently determines where and how it processes iCloud and App Store information under its terms.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes to BillGarden, the website, Apple services, law, or our practices. We will change the “last updated” date and, when appropriate, provide additional notice in the App or on this website. Material changes apply prospectively unless law permits otherwise.
