Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and JTR Labs LLC ("JTR Labs", "we", "us", or "our") governing your use of the PawPrints mobile application and related services (collectively, the "App"). Please read them carefully. By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Acceptance of these Terms

By accessing or using the App, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated here by reference.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction (or have the consent of a parent or legal guardian) to enter into these Terms and use the App. By using the App, you represent that you meet these requirements.

3. License to use PawPrints

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use one copy of the App on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial use, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service. This license does not allow you to use the App on any device you do not own or control, and you may not distribute or make the App available over a network where it could be used by multiple devices at once.

4. Your content & ownership

The photos, videos, journal entries, names, dates, notes, and other material you add to the App ("Your Content") belong to you. We do not claim any ownership of Your Content.

Because PawPrints is local-first, Your Content is stored on your device (and, if you enable it, in your own iCloud account). We do not require any license to Your Content to operate the App, and we do not access, use, or share it. You are responsible for Your Content and for keeping your own backups; we are not responsible for any loss of Your Content (for example, due to device loss, deletion, or hardware failure).

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• copy, modify, reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App, except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by law;
• rent, lease, lend, sell, sublicense, or otherwise commercially exploit the App;
• remove or alter any proprietary notices in the App;
• use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law; or
• interfere with or attempt to disrupt the integrity or security of the App.

6. Subscriptions & billing

PawPrints offers a free tier and an optional premium subscription that unlocks additional features (such as unlimited dogs, advanced creative tools, and more).

• Billing through Apple. If you purchase a subscription, payment is charged to your Apple ID account through the App Store.
• Auto-renewal. Subscriptions automatically renew for the same period at the then-current price unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
• Managing & cancelling. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple ID account settings. Cancelling stops future renewals; the current paid period continues until it ends.
• Free trials & promotions. If a free trial is offered, any unused portion is forfeited when you purchase a subscription, where applicable.
• Refunds. Purchases are handled by Apple and are subject to Apple's refund policies. We generally cannot grant refunds directly; please contact Apple Support for billing issues.
• Price changes. We may change subscription pricing prospectively; changes will not affect the period you have already paid for, and you will be notified as required.

7. Intellectual property

The App itself — including its software, design, "PawPrints" name and logo, icons, illustrations, text, and other materials we provide (excluding Your Content) — is owned by JTR Labs or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the license granted above, no rights are granted to you in the App.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet your requirements, or that any data will be preserved or remain available. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of the above may not apply to you.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will JTR Labs be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, memories, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) the App, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the App will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the App in the twelve (12) months before the claim, or (b) USD $25. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless JTR Labs and its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your misuse of the App or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

12. Termination

These Terms apply until terminated. Your license ends automatically if you fail to comply with these Terms. You may end these Terms at any time by deleting the App and ceasing all use. Upon termination, the license granted to you ends, but the sections that by their nature should survive (including ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification) will survive.

13. Apple App Store additional terms

These Terms are between you and JTR Labs only, and not with Apple Inc. ("Apple"). The following terms apply with respect to your use of the App obtained from the Apple App Store:

• Apple has no obligation to furnish any maintenance or support services for the App. JTR Labs is solely responsible for providing any such support.
• In the event of any failure of the App to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price (if any) to you; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the App.
• JTR Labs, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims relating to the App, including product liability claims, claims that the App fails to conform to legal or regulatory requirements, and consumer-protection claims.
• JTR Labs, not Apple, is responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of any third-party claim that the App infringes that third party's intellectual property rights.
• You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as "terrorist supporting," and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
• Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and upon your acceptance, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.

14. Changes to the App and these Terms

We may update or modify the App, including adding, changing, or removing features, at any time. We may also revise these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above, and material changes take effect when posted. Your continued use of the App after changes become effective means you accept the revised Terms.

15. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State in which JTR Labs LLC resides, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. You agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the App will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in that State, except where prohibited by applicable law. If you are a consumer, you may have additional rights under the mandatory laws of your country of residence, which are not affected by this section.

16. General

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and JTR Labs regarding the App, and supersede any prior agreements. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full effect. Our failure to enforce any right is not a waiver of that right. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
